This architectural design course deals with design development and detailing of a design problem introduced at the beginning of the semester. The class will focus on an interior renovation of an existing building. ARCH 3511 addresses the next level of design after schematic design: design development.
color code your RCPs. It makes it easier to know which light fixture goes where. Also, when drawing your RCP in Cad remember to use the "spline" command and (dash-dot) the linetype. You have several interesting ways of massing you containers as I saw in your massing board.
The design works very well for your family, but it is hard to understand it the way it is laid out. The drawings should be horizontal with the site plan being the long way on a horizontal sheet. Your floorplans were squeezed to a very small sheet as the sheet layout was vertical. I think this would have given you more space to organize your drawings. The drawings should be rendered or have a bit of color or tone. The RCP and the elevations are very much like CDs and not like presentation drawings. The kitchen and bathroom drawings are the best organized - but could use a bit of color or tone. Model?? I thought we saw an image in class - please add to this post. RCP - needs to know which light is where.

ReplyDeleteReally interesting massings and overall house design. Some images on boards could be more organized so it doesn't look all over the place.

ReplyDeleteI think that you RCP are to plain if you try to make it into a single shift if would look better and as metioning before work on organization
